                                                                  House Portrait

This picture I used colored pencils and I created this picture with lots of detail.   Commission work can be challenging because it is so personal for the client.  I always try to understand what the subject means to my client as in this case its preserving childhood memories.

                                                                      Pet Portrait

This painting I had the photo of the dog and I wanted to add more to the painting.  The Client and I discussed what this dog enjoyed.   This dog loved going on the trails with its owner and the owners horse.  The saddle was added to reflect its love of the horse trails.
This dog just makes you smile.  I enjoyed painting this beautiful creature.

This is a saw blade I painted for a customer.  I enjoyed painting it once I got use to the surface.
I liked how this painting turned out.

I will be starting a new series of Butterfly paintings.  I am going to be painting them on 5x5 deep edge canvas's.  I am hoping to have a variety of different designs. These little paintings are distractions from my commission pieces.  Sometimes you need distractions from working on another project.

Here are 2 of my Butterfly Paintings.  They are painted with acrylic paint on 4x4 deep edge canvas.

I am reposting some of my paintings for 2 reasons.  One is to remind myself how to post on my webpage.  2nd to change my post from the last time I posted anything on this site.  I would love to start receiving comments from my visitors.  I would love to hear from everyone what they like about my artwork.  What type of painting would interest them!!!

                                                              Quackers and Water
I entered this painting in two art shows in 2014 and it did quite well.  It won second place in the AAMC art show and won 3rd place in the CAL art show.

                                                                River Reflections
I won third place with this painting.  I entered it in a small art show.   I did really well in 2014.

Leopard

I don't have a name for my leopard but I enjoyed drawing him.  I used colored pencils because I can produce a lot more detail.  I enjoy producing pictures with pencils.  I started out with pencil to produce art and I find myself going back to it when ever I get bored or tired of painting.  Its my first love when it comes to my artwork.

                                                                Feathered Friends
I just love these two parakeets.  I used one of my own photo's that I took at the Knoxville Zoo.  I used colored pencils to create the picture. I enjoyed the end result and I am thinking of reproducing these two again in either acrylic or oil paints. If I do reproduce these 2 feathered friends I will let you all see it in the next chosen medium.

                                                            Stormy Sun Rise

This painting I used one of my photos of Flagler Beach as my reference.  We drove down to the beach to get sunrise pictures and the sky was covered with stormy clouds. The sun was breaking through the clouds and I had snapped a lot of photo's and I just loved this one.

Bricks and Flowers
I painted this picture just for fun. I wanted to practice painting bricks and flowers.  I used silk flowers for reference and the brick I just pictured it in my mind.

Quackers and Water

This acrylic painting was painted from one of my photo's.  I have discovered in my world of creating art that I am attracted to water.  I love to paint water.  This painting has been entered in 3 different art shows.   I was fortunate to win awards in 2 of these shows.  It won 2nd and 3rd place.  I was so excited and very happy that it won awards.  It was very rewarding.

River Reflections

River Reflections was painted in oils with lots and lots of layers of glazing.  It took me a very long time to finish this painting.  My reference photo was given to me by the photographer listed on my home page as my favorite links.  The reflections are beautiful in this painting!  This painting was entered in 3 art shows and won 3rd place in one of them.

                                             Brother

Here is a black and white pencil portrait I was hired to produce.  Just 2 Little guys who show brotherly love.  I had 2 pictures to work with and I changed the oldest boys hair because he liked his bangs longer so I made the adjustment to make him the way he likes himself.  I enjoy doing portraits because you catch the individuals personality.

                                           Fall Scene

This picture was painted and I added other objects after this step into the painting .  It was my first fall scene and I found it fun to paint.

This picture was painted with acrylics first and I finished it with oils.  The original is painted on a 16x20 canvas.

This picture was painted in oils and was my first seascape. I love the sky in this picture and in the original photo I painted from.  I hope to paint more seascapes with mountains and bigger waves in the future.

Fantail Goldfish

Fantail Goldfish

This picture is painted in oil paints on a 12 x 12 canvas with the deep edged sides.   This picture was fun to paint.  It was one of my own photo's and it was taken at the Knoxville zoo.  I was in the   butterfly exhibit, had turned around and to my surprise the pond they had in this exhibit was directly behind me. This cute goldfish appeared at the surface of the water looking at me and I began snapping  pictures with my camera and enjoyed the results I had gotten with my camera. So I turned my picture into a painting.  I really enjoy animals as you can  see by the artwork I display.  I just love them.

Squirrel

This picture is done in colored pencils. I had started this picture a few years back and finally finished it.  This little guy was allot of fun and took allot of short pencil strokes to accomplish the look I needed to make him look furry.  I am glad I finished him.
